Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has distributed a recruitment notification for various posts which will be going to publish in the police department. To know about examination pattern, admit card and syllabus  to be followed please go through the below-mentioned details:

SSC CPO 2016 Selection Norms:

Most appropriate contender will be selected for the post of Sub Inspector Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistant sub-inspector in following phases:

  • Preliminary Exam (Paper I)
  • Main Exam (Paper II)
  • Physical Standard & Efficiency Test
  • Interview Session and Scrutiny
  • Medical Examination

Note: Applicants are advised to reach the venue

before 9.30 AM in the

SSC CPO 2016 Written Exam:

  • Questions to be asked will be objective type comprising of multiple choices.
  • The question paper will be bilingual i.e. Hindi as well as English in three parts A, B and C.
  • For every correct answer, one mark will be allotted and 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
  • Admit card will be published on its official website before written examination.

Paper -I

General Aptitude & Reasoning:
Analogies, space visualization, spatial orientation, analysis, judgment, decision making, pictorial memory, observation, Blood relations concepts, Critical thinking, arithmetical reasoning, and figural classification, coding-decoding, Numeral series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, syllogistic reasoning , Space Orientation,  Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Numeral Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Mathematical Operations, figurative Operations, Trends, Semantic Series, Venn Diagrams, Drawing interpretations, Pattern-folding & un-folding, Emotional Intelligence, Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning, statement conclusion,  etc.

General Awareness:
Current events, day to day interpretations and experience in their scientific phase, National and International events, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc.

Quantitative Aptitude:
Number system, decimals, fractions, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Mixture and Allegation, Square roots, Averages, Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership, Time and distance, simple and compound Interest, Time & work, Algebra and Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle, Circle, Quadrilaterals, Complementary angles,  Regular Polygons, Circle, Prism, Circular Cone, Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometry, Degree and Radian Measures, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.

English Comprehension:
Reading comprehension and giving answers accordingly. Contender’s writing capability will be checked in this segment.


Paper-II :
English Language & Comprehension :
Understanding and knowledge of English Language, Error recognition, fillers, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence framing, Synonyms, Antonyms, Vocabulary Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idioms, comprehension etc.
